Spend time in traditional accommodation, delve into recent history in Hiroshima and then finish your trip relaxing in a hot spring bath in the Hakone National Park, home to the iconic Mount Fuji.
Day 01: Arrive in Tokyo
Arrive in Tokyo from India. You will be met by oour representative who will give you your documents, exchange your voucher for the rail pass, and direct you to the bus service to your hotel for 3 nights. After checking in, spend the rest of the day at leisure getting over any jet lag.
Day 02: Tokyo
Today spend the full day seeing the many sights of this wonderful metropolis. Use our folders to guide you to the modern areas such as Ginza and Shibuya, but also visit the traditional Asakusa.
Day 03: Tokyo - Kamakura - Tokyo
Take the train to Kamakura, seeing the Great Buddha of Kotokuin, and a number of scenic temples and shrines. Upon returning to Tokyo, head to one of our recommended restaurants for a wonderful meal.Day 04: Tokyo - Tsumago
Travel by bullet train and local lines to Tsumago, a quiet post town in the Kiso Valley. This afternoon, after checking in to your pre-booke Hotel, walk along the scenic Nakasendo Highway, which once connected Kyoto and Edo (Tokyo) in the 1800s. Overnight in your pre-booked Hotel in Tsumago.
Day 05: Tsumago - Hiroshima
Take the train to Hiroshima, where after checking in at the hotel for two nights, you can head to the Peace Park to learn about the events of World War II. Despite it being a quite sobering experience, the Japanese have made it an extremely interesting place and somewhere which is a must-visit in the city.
Day 06: Hiroshima
Have a full day to explore Hiroshima and nearby Miyajima island, with its "floating" torii gate.
Day 07: Hiroshima - Kyoto
Take the train to Kyoto and after checking in at the hotel for 3 nights, take a walk to one of the main areas of the city, enjoying the lovely surroundings of Kyoto.
Day 08: Kyoto>
There are so many places of interest in Kyoto, so today is at leisure to see these many sights. Navigate your way around the city seeing the many gardens, shrines and shops of this unique city.
Day 09: Kyoto
Take the train to visit Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine, home to hundreds of torii gates. After taking the walk through the forest, continue your journey on to Nara, one of the former capitals of Japan, to feed the wild deer and see the Daibutsu, the largest Buddha in Japan.
Day 10: Kyoto - Hakone
After taking the train to Hakone check in at your pr-booked Hotel for two nights. Then either head to a hot spring to relax for the rest of the day, or use our representative's recommendation to navigate your way around the National Park.
Day 11: Hakone
After breakfast your day is at leisure to see the many areas of Hakone National Park. Your Hakone Free Pass will allow you to use the buses, trains and cable cars, and also discounted rates in some of the attractions.
Day 12: Hakone - Tokyo
After a leisurely morning return to Tokyo for a final night in the capital.
Day 13: Depart Tokyo
Take the limousine bus to Narita airport for your return flight back to India.
